Avigail seemed to relax as he walked besides her, close enough she could see him, but not too close. He seemed to genuinely not want to upset her. And she felt like she could relax with him being where she could see him. He respected her, so she would respect him back.

"Do you mind if I walk beside you?"

"Sure you can," Avigail said swishing her tail calmly.

"So Avigail.. how long have you been in the Hunters? I'm only an apprentice now. I only recently joined."

"Five months, I joined as a apprentice as well but I'm a hunter now. It can be hard when your new, but you'll learn to grow used to it and things will calm down. Its nice too see respectful cats around here though I will give you that." She said, complimenting his courtesey.

Avigail seemed a lot less tense, Jude thought. 

"Wow! Only 5 months as an apprentice. That's an achievement! I hope I will also be able to move up so quickly. You must be very talented. Did you have a mentor? Or did you train with your human?"

He looked down. A large beetle was crossing their path. It felt the vibrations of their paw steps and took off flying. Jude's paw shot up and lightly swatted it, catching it between his claws. He opened his paw and watched the beetle crawl all over it as he turned it to watch the bug run. Lifting his foreleg, he released the bug with a small flick of his paw, watching it fall and then fly away from them. He resumed walking alongside Avigail.

"If you don't mind me asking... Where did you come from?" he asked curiously.

Avigail smiled, "I'm sure you'll do fine." She said, then her smile went away as quickly as it had come.

"Better watch out, that little bugger might come back with more." She said artistically, as she watched him play with the beetle. " Where did I come from?" She repeated his question, "Oh...Well...Lets not talk about that okay?" She said, sounding defensive.

Heheh, I got her to smile, even if just for a moment.. Jude grinned to himself.

"Oh...Well...Lets not talk about that okay?" she sounded a bit defensive.

Hmm.. back to the start again, huh? Judas looked at her and smiled softly, unphased.

"That's alright, a lot of cats don't seem to like to talk about their pasts. Well.. Just throwing it out there, but is there anything you'd like to know about me?"

"Well, how did you get here?" Avigail asked him, after a moment of thought. As they padded along, she jumped over a log in their way and looked back at him.
